The ASF appointed Honner Media in April 2008 to prepare and execute a PR strategy aimed at promoting debate and discussion on policy measures to revive Australia's securitisation market.
An ongoing media contact plan, pointed media releases and a series of successful media events delivered a number of outcomes for the ASF that directly reflect the PR program's agreed success factors. These include:
- Increased profile coverage of the then CEO Greg Medcraft and the ASF, with in excess of 40 articles secured in targeted finance publications including a number of high profile stories in the AFR, Sydney Morning Herald and on ABC Lateline Business.
- Key media relationships established with finance journalists.
- Increased press awareness of the ASF and the importance of a vibrant securitisation market in the context of current challenges and policy options – as evidenced by the broad and deep coverage secured.
